The history of Samuel Stephen College began in 1946 when Leo Blackburn founded the Portsmouth Interstate Business College in Portsmouth, Ohio.  Nearly 30 years later his son Samuel bought the college from his father, expanded to new campuses, and created Southeastern Business College.

The proud tradition of dedication to excellence in education that started 61 years ago by Leo Blackburn, then continued by Sam Blackburn, is continued today at Samuel Stephen College by Connie Blackburn Pruitt.
Samuel Stephen College is a small college.  Our student enrollment capacity is 600 students.  If you prefer small class size and personal interaction with instructors, then Samuel Stephen College is the place for you.
